ToolbarItem Color not changing on Android

When setting the BarTextColor in iOS this also changes the ToolBarItem text color. On Android this does not effect the ToolBarItem color (text only).

Is there a way to change the change the ToolBarItem color on Andoird??? At the moment I have a gray light navigationbar, the default white ToolBarItems are hardly visible.
